BATON ROUGE, LA — A day of fall camp media availability at LSU painted a clear picture of a team brimming with confidence and a strong sense of unity. Four key players—tight end Trey'Dez Green, wide receiver Barion Brown, and defensive stalwarts Ashton Stamps and Bernard Gooden—all spoke to the media, offering a glimpse into a program that appears to be firing on all cylinders as the season opener approaches.

On the offensive side of the ball, optimism is high. Trey'Dez Green, a rising talent at tight end, feels the game has "slowed down" for him as he's gained a better understanding of the offense. He's honed his skills in blocking and route running and expressed his readiness for the upcoming Clemson game. Green didn't shy away from praising his teammates, describing the offensive unit as "freaks" and the wide receivers as "track stars." He also gave a shout-out to his fellow tight end Bauer Sharp for his veteran leadership and credited “Nuss” as a great leader who keeps the team together.

Wide receiver Barion Brown echoed Green's sentiment, not only on the team's potential but also on their chemistry. Brown provided a positive update on his ankle, stating the injury from the previous day's punt was "nothing major." He believes the offense is poised to be "very explosive" and is eager to "put it on display" on August 30. He highlighted the "amazing" and competitive nature of the wide receiver room and noted the strong bond among the players, even sharing a personal story about his friendship with teammate “Beezy” (Bernard Gooden) noting they both have a dog and hang out all the time.

The defensive side of the ball is just as confident. Defensive back Ashton Stamps spoke about the significant improvements in the secondary, citing the group's newfound confidence from consistently making plays in practice. Stamps, who has noticed the game "slowing down" for him as a junior, has taken on a leadership role, mentoring younger players and praising the work ethic instilled by Coach Raymond. He also pointed to the improved pass rush as a key factor, explaining that it’s forcing the ball out quicker and allowing the secondary to make more plays. Stamps provided insight into the defensive mindset under Defensive Coordinator Blake Baker, whose message to the team is to "have fun" and "create havoc."

Defensive lineman Bernard Gooden, who was also singled out by Stamps for his energy, proved to be an equally passionate voice. Gooden described himself as a "non-stop talker" who thrives on talking trash to opponents. He takes pride in his quickness and "get off" and noted that his size has been compared to Aaron Donald. Gooden also praised coach Kyle Williams for the invaluable knowledge he provides from his NFL experience. Gooden, who feels he has adapted to the team "like family," chose LSU for its rich tradition and the opportunity to play on a big stage.
The collective message from all four players is a testament to a program that is not only talented but also united. With a blend of veteran leadership and promising young talent, LSU appears well-positioned to meet its high expectations for the season ahead.
