LSU Beats Omaha 99-73

LSU wrapped up its homestand Friday night by doing exactly what they were supposed to do: bully-ball the Omaha Mavericks straight out of the PMAC. Final score: 99–73, and honestly, it never felt that close.

From the jump, LSU looked like a team that had somewhere else to be. The Tigers were flying around, getting whatever they wanted on offense, and turning the paint into their own personal playground. Omaha tried to hang around early, but once LSU started rolling downhill, it was curtains.

Big man Mike Nwoko — fresh off dropping a casual 29 in the last game — continued his run as the most unstoppable human in Baton Rouge not named Livvy Dunne. The dude has been eating rebounds for breakfast and dunking anything within arm’s reach for dessert. He looks like he’s playing a different sport at this point.

LSU’s offense, which has been hotter than Louisiana asphalt in July, almost cracked the century mark again. It’s becoming a habit. And not a bad one.

Oh, and shoutout to former Omaha standout Marquel Sutton, who got to face his old squad. If you think he didn’t have this one circled on the calendar with a bright yellow highlighter, you’re lying to yourself.

Quick Hits:

  • LSU Might Score 100 Every Night: The Tigers once again turned the scoreboard into a slot machine. Points everywhere. Buckets raining. Good luck game-planning for this team when everyone’s getting theirs.

  • Omaha Had No Answers in the Paint: LSU’s frontcourt basically treated this game like a cardio session. Offensive boards, putbacks, interior scoring — all day.

  • Season Momentum? Very Much Here: LSU looks more and more like a team figuring out who they are. Roles are settling in, chemistry is clicking, and the vibes are good.

Omaha had some stretches where they looked competitive, but LSU’s depth and athleticism eventually swallowed them up. This one went about how Vegas probably expected.

Next up: LSU leaves the cozy confines of the PMAC and gears up for the next test. If they keep scoring like this, it won’t matter who’s on the other side.
